The Department of Leadership & Experiential Learning designs and implements diverse leadership opportunities and comprehensive trainings in order to provoke thought and inspire action around the University. Leadership Interns have the opportunity to actively participate in a project-based experience while developing skills in event planning and management, web-design, leadership training, workshop facilitation, and general professional competence.

The Discovery Program are three concurrent two day programs offered to first year students as an extended orientation immersion experience. Students will learn about the history, culture, and needs of the New Brunswick/Piscataway community and explore one of four tracks of interest to them: Community Service, Adventure Learning, Sustainability, or Social Justice. Through interactions with student leaders, Rutgers students will discover themselves, a community at Rutgers University, and how they can better serve New Brunswick/Piscataway and beyond!

The Discovery Program is a two-day, one-night post orientation opportunity for new students interested in learning about community service opportunities at Rutgers through an immersion service-learning experience  in the New Brunswick Community.
