RUAB Spring Break Participant Interviews
The Rutgers University Alternative Winter Break and Spring Break programs provide groups of Rutgers University undergraduate students with a semester-long experience centered on community service. Participants learn about a particular community issue within the United States during five weeks of pre-trip meetings and a volunteer break excursion.

Through this leadership co-curricular experience, upperclassmen are challenged to mentor and engage first-year students to help foster and supplement the journey of the First-year Fellowship. Developing students’ competencies in peer leadership and effective influence, this series prepares the Peer Leadership Mentors (PLMs) to properly represent, advocate, and lead their peers. The First-Year Fellowship Certificate Program features a curriculum designed for emerging leaders to cultivate their skills and abilities to become the next generation of leaders on campus and beyond! Fellows take advantage of the opportunity to participate in an 8-week, 1.5-credit leadership course in the Fall or Spring semester, in addition to being exposed to greater involvement opportunities at Rutgers!
